LFO
’s Mark Bell
has a glittering track record. His debut album “Frequencies” (recorded when he was just 19, with collaborator Gez Varley) has been hailed as “to this day an absolute classic”, and a defining moment for the then-new electronica scene.
Mark has since worked as a producer/remixer for such luminaries as Depeche Mode and Bjork, but is now back in the studio with his Muon Tau Pro brewing up a brand new LFO album for Sheffield electronica label Warp Records. We can’t wait to hear what he will come up with!

Future Loop Foundation’s Mark Barrott is a man never separated
from his Titanium powerbook, able to work on his finely-crafted blissed-out beats and jazzy grooves wherever he may be.
Mark has come a long way since being mesmerised at a Kraftwerk gig in his home town of
Sheffield at the age of 13. His debut album, Time & Bass was released to critical acclaim in 1996, and he’s now signed to Pankay Records with a superb second album and a tour this year.
This wonderful, funky track Afro Dub

The [ dojo ] is the studio of Billy Dalessandro. A 26 year old producer from Chicago (now re-located to Italy), he produces for various minimal German techno labels, such as Resopal - Schallware and Force Inc Music Works. Billy says: “my approach is simple
yet effective, using nothing but a 'software based' studio on a laptop with various virtual instruments and FX”. We say the results are minimal, deeply funky and uplifting - check out this seven minute
slow-burner featuring Tau Pro - Cyberestial

Electrodiesel is 30-year old Andy Slater
from Manchester. Describing his work Andy says "I never really set off writing with an idea in my head, I just let the sounds guide me ... I like things with an epic feel...to make music that I feel is
accessible to the listener". We think his stuff is stunning, melodic, hard-hitting techno.
His CD "While America Sleeps" was released on the Canadian label Something Inviting
and although this track
isn't from the CD it was produced entirely with Tau Pro and some drum samples!

Originally a 4 piece hailing from California's Badland, Penal Colony became fixtures of Hollywood's Industrial/Alt-Punk-Metal-Electro scene of the 90's. Penal Colony is now just D Madden, an electronic/computer music artist forthe past 20 years. The band's catalog includes numerous releases on
Cleopatra Records, and will soon be complimented with "Unfinished Business" on DSBP Records, slated for release May 2003. We think it is great to see D’s raw punk sensibility brought to
virtual instruments - listen to “Falling Down Stairs
” to hear a Tau Pro being soundly abused!

The desolate fens of Norfolk play background to 35-year old Kriminal’s twisted acid b-lines.
A producer with 15 years in the business, we’re especially fond of his choice of cheeky vocal snippets and searing acid
riffing. An excellent example of his unique style, featuring a handful of Tau Basslines
, can be heard in the track “thru your heart”. We say: someone sign this guy!

Disturbing, broody, gothic yet strangely danceable, “The Prayer Capsule” is the brainchild of talented sound designer Scot Murray Solida. According to Scott, a Prayer Capsule is “A spacecraft with a single occupant,
blasted away in an act of faith from a dying world to seek out the aid of any deities who might be able to turn back the hand of fate.”
This excellent track, produced using only Muon instruments proves its not all about techno techno techno!
